i don’t have a lot of time for making bentos these days but mmmbento has been inspiring me so who knows! she posted some lovely buns that were filled with hoisin chicken. i started thinking about other things that would work well in buns, and thought i’d try some sausage. guayaba and cream cheese sounds like another possibility..
top: sausage filled buns, guayaba paste; bottom: (not really tri color donburi because he hates sweet eggs or eggs and rice) corn, sausage, spinach, over rice
the corn is fresh off the cob purchased at pike’s place market! the frozen spinach i use is cascadian farms frozen organic. it’s very good quality and is separated in little “nuggets” that make it easy to heat up just the portion you need.
